About Me

• Retired from Wichita Public Schools with almost 30 years of serving students, families and our community.
•  During my career, I worked as a teacher, counselor, librarian, and technology specialist. 
•  I have lived in the Wichita area since 1984, but I grew up in a small Kansas town outside of Emporia. 
•  I am passionate about helping people and have spent much of my life in service to others. 
•  I have been married for 36 years and have three children and four beautiful grandchildren. 
•  And I can’t forget my four-legged children! My two dogs are definitely part of the family, too. 
•  I love to travel! I enjoy meeting people, experiencing different cultures, and seeing new places. Ask me about some of my adventures to South Africa, the Galápagos Islands, Ecuador, Europe, Mexico, and the Caribbean! Ask me where I am going next!

I felt a call for action. I needed to do something to support our people; whether it’s my neighbor, colleague or stranger. We need to bring compassion, empathy and kindness back to Kansas!

Changes are needed and I hope to help facilitate those changes. Our government is struggling to work together and focus on what people truly need!
 

Growing up, I was raised by a single mother and had 3 older siblings. My mother always did her best but life was never easy. Small-town community showed me how to work hard for what is needed for everyone- regardless of their age, social status or ethnicity. 

I want to work towards a better world for my family, neighbors and friends. I believe that starts with health care, affordable groceries and quality public education.
